How do I get rid of “Daddy Long-Legs?
We just built a house in the woods and I went out to water my dog when I spotted what looked like a pile of brown dog fur. I’m thinking my dog’s gone mad and pulled a bunch of hair out, but when I reached down to pick it up, the whole pile moved! It was hundreds of harvestmen or “Daddy Long-Legs”! I absolutely freaked out! Then today, I was sweeping off the porch and saw another HUGE pile of them in the transom above the front door! How do you get rid of these nasty things?
I am very fearful of spiders, but the daddy long legs is the most harmless spider of all spiders. Their mouths are not big enough to bite us, they eat insects, and they do not build webs. If your going to have spiders, they are the best ones to have. They are probably mating and when they are done, they will not group as you see them now.
