Income report: June, 2008

It is the time to announce the income of June, 2008. I’m sad to say the monthly blog income is continuous to drop but it may become stable in the next month. According to my research, the market leaders within niche also suffered from traffic dropped. In my opinion, there are two reasons for such poor performance: (1) more and more competitors; (2) Big sports event: Euro 2008 (Olympic games is also coming soon);
The income breakdown are as follows:

Adsense: $51.52
Shareapic: $1.64
===============
Total: $52.84

Widgetbucks removed

Widgetbucks is removed from Teddy Money due to undesirable performance during testing period. However, I would still try to insert the code into other blog. Firstly, the program can generate a little bit money from other blog. I will review widgetbucks after I got paid from them. Secondly, some people really earn a desirable income from this program. I believed that it is more suitable for a product related website. A new program will insert in the coming few days for testing

Response to the China Earthquake

On Monday, May 12, at 2.28 p.m. Beijing time (6:28 GMT), a major earthquake, measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale, jolted southwestern China’s Sichuan Province. Several lower-scale earthquakes and aftershocks followed in the same area. The quake destroyed many buildings in the area, as well as infrastructure like communication towers.

According to the latest reports, more than 12,000 people have died and many more have been injured or are missing. Many schools were destroyed, including one that had at least 900 students in it. As authorities reach more remote areas, these numbers are expected to rise.

Red Cross and Red Crescent Response
Immediately after the quake struck, the Red Cross Society of China (RCSC) began to mobilize a relief operation for this disaster. The American Red Cross has been in touch with the RCSC and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and stands prepared to provide including relief supplies, delegates or financial assistance, as needed.

The RCSC immediately mobilized its staff and volunteers, as well as relief supplies, such as tents, quilts and other materials. Already, volunteers and staff from the RCSC have been distributing food, water and tents to people in the affected area. Assessment teams are on the ground to determine the extent of the damage.

On May 12, the International Federation allocated nearly US $240,000 from the Disaster Response Emergency Fund (DREF) to help the RCSC deliver immediate assistance.

Restoring Family Links
Concerned family and friends in the United States may have difficulty contacting their loved ones as a result of telecommunication outages caused by this disaster.

If you are trying to reach relatives living in China who are citizens of China, the American Red Cross suggests you keep calling or try contacting other family members who live nearby.

Inquiries concerning U.S. citizens living or traveling in China should be referred to the U.S. Department of State at 1-888-407-4747.

Spend more time on Teddy Money

In the past, I did spend a little time on Teddy Money because I have spent a lot of time on my photoblog. However, I found that the business model of the photoblog is not sustainable and workable now. The traffic and income are both decreasing.

Since the photoblog did provide a reasonable passive income with little effort, I still run the business with same business model. Now, I spend more time on an investment blog and also will spend more time on Teddy Money.

Now, I have tried to diversify income source in this blog. Also, I will enhance the number of traffic. However, it doesn’t mean that photoblog business will be given up. I’m familiar with the business model but it was distorted by a wrong decision
